What is Mystic Messenger?
Mystic Messenger is a game developed by Cheritz, a South Korean visual novel game that is female-oriented. The game was released on the 8th of July,2016, and again on the 18th of August 2016, for Android and IOS. The game is available in Korean, English, and Spanish, described as a ‘storytelling messenger game.’ Its genre is Romance. And Mystic Messenger is a Single-player game. In the year 2017, it was awarded Best Indie Game at the 2017 Korea Game Awards.
How Do Mystic Messenger Email Work?
As the game revolves around hosting the party. it’s expected that you have to deal with the guests that are going to join the party. The Mystic Messenger emails are sent through a virtual messenger option that you will see in the mobile application. This is something that characters like Jumin, V, 707, Yoosung, and Zen look up to, so make sure you do it well.
How to Host a Party in Mystic Messenger?
In Mystic Messenger application there are several game modes. RFA is one of the unique activities in the game similar to dating. It’s the fundraising association founded by Rika ( V’s Girlfriend) but had to stop after her death.
Rika’s Fundraising Association (RFA)
RFA is the charity foundation that holds parties in the Mystic Messenger Game mode. As soon as Rika’s passing, there were no parties held. But after you participate in the game mode, you will get a chance to host the party again.
When Do You Start Getting Mystic Messenger Emails?
The RFA event consists of 11 days in the Mystic Messenger game, and the party can be held on the 11th day, so you should try your best to host the party on the day. You must invite at least 10 guests for you to successfully host the party. However, this is only applicable if you are playing in regular story mode. And if you take the V and Ray gameplay route you need at least 15 guests to host a party and have the best ending to the event.
How to Invite Guests to the Party using Mystic Messenger Emails?
There are few things to consider when comes to play the Mystic Messenger party event. You need at least 10 members to host the party and have a good ending. And their attendance will depend on how you respond to their in-game messages.
Within the time span of 10 days, you will receive messages from the gust, each gust will send you a least 3 no. of emails that have an @ symbol in their name. If you fail to complete to replay these three mails for each guest or answered the questions wrongly. you will lose those gust from attending the party. It all depends on your answer that you can successfully host the party or not.

Gameplay
The story lasts for 11 days per route. The first day is concerned about the game’s prologue, three days for the ‘common route,’ six days to focus on a character’s route, and a single day for the party. The game plays in real-time, where the players can receive text messages and join the group chat in a special messenger. Throughout the conversations of the first four days, the player can assign responses to certain characters to increase the likability with them, which are symbolized as hearts.
When the fourth day ends, the player will be encountering a Caution. It will help to branch the game and find out if the player is going to get a route or it is going to end up bad. IT depends on the hearts accumulated and participation in the chatroom during the four days. During each of the routes, the story has three Cautions on different days. There are seven routes in all. Three of them are available in Casual Story, two routes in Deep Story, and the other two in Another Story. The story actually has two stories and five routes till September 8, 2017.
Then, Cheritz released a route for V in a separate story. The other name of the story is ‘Another Story.’ The primary character appears a year before time in the original story. Cheritz released a route for Saeran/Ray in the same story on January 31, 2018. The cost of the routes is 550 Hourglasses in total.
Characters
The main characters include-
Protagonist – Once she becomes a member of RFA and is forced to live in Rika’s apartment, she takes the role of Rika. She finally organizes the long-awaited party for the members. Her avatar came in five different appearances. She has a brown skin tone, long silky hair, and eyes hidden under bangs, as seen in the CGs.
Jumin Han – this is voiced by Yongwoo Shin. Jumin Han is a 27-year-old heir of C&R International, a company which is owned by her father. The character has short black hair, grey eyes, and is mostly involved in business trips. The character is fond of wearing tuxedos and is not used to having foods meant for the commoners. Jasmin is a cat lover, and he claims that only cats understand and are loyal to him.
Zen – Jang Kim voices this. Zen is the stage name of Hyun Ryu, who is an old musical stage artist aged twenty-four. He has pale skin, red-brown colored eyes, and white hair short at the front and long at the back. Despite his looks, he wants people to know him for his skills and personality.
707 – Voiced by Youngsun Kim. He is a genius hacker for twenty-two years. He is an intelligent agent, as well. He had created the RFA Messenger app. 707, also referred to as Seven, has short curly red hair, amber eyes, and a Catholic.
Yoosung – voiced by Kyuhyun. He is a college student of 21 years and an addicted online gamer of a game LOLOL. He is ranked two in the server, with 707 apparently beating him in the first rank. Due to his addiction, he does not have time to study though he is smart at SKY University. In fact, he got an internship offer from Jumin.
Jaehee Kang – Voiced by Jeonghwa Yang. She is currently the only female member of RFA besides the protagonist. She is an old Chief Assistant at C&R International and Jumin’s personal assistant of 26 years of age. She has brown eyes and brown pixie-cut styled hair and is a big fan of Zen.
V – Voiced by Hosan Lee. He is a childhood friend of Jumin and the leader of RFA. He was Rika’s fiancé. He is very possessive about his friends. He would rather be blamed or keep secrets from RFA than hurt his friends. It is common to see him wearing a pair of sunglasses to hide his eyes after getting into an accident for which he began losing his eyesight.
Rika – Voiced by Hyunjin Lee. RFA members adore Rika as she and her ex-fiancee founded the organization. She was thrilled when she was alive. She had several mental issues from an early age caused by her dad, leaving her and her mother committing suicide.
Unknown/Saeran/Ray – Voiced by Kang Soo-jin. He is a hacker who took the protagonist to Rika’s apartment. He is part of a mysterious cult named ‘Mint Eye.’ He has a strong grudge towards 707. This character appears to be an antagonist and is responsible for causing all the bad things at the end.
Vanderwood – Voiced by Gyuchong Lee. He is another agent working in the same agency as 707. He serves as someone who is given the work to make sure 707 is working. He also cleans 707’s house. The character has a taser gun and a dictionary.
Stories/Plot
In Mystic Messenger, the player takes the role of a female character whose name is selected by the player himself. The female protagonist downloads a mysterious app that leads her into living in either a closed, secured apartment owned by Rika. She meets the remaining members of RFA and is tasked to organize a party. The protagonist brings Unknown Tricks into playing the game and brings you to Mint Eye, keeping you by his side. He can then choose one out of 7 available routes, each with backgrounds, and find the truth behind the RFA.
